This guide is designed for hiring managers involved in recruitment who will be reviewing candidates that complete a Vervoe assessment. It outlines:
- What’s Changing (and Why It Matters)
- Your Role in the Vervoe Process
- Common Questions and Concerns
This shift is part of our broader move towards skills-based hiring — a more inclusive, effective, and evidence-based approach that leads to better hires, faster decisions, and a fairer experience for everyone. There’s no need to overhaul how you work — just a few smart updates that improve quality and save time.
What’s Changing (and Why It Matters)
We’re introducing Vervoe, a platform where candidates complete short, job-relevant tasks before you review their CV or meet them.
Rather than relying solely on past experience or self-reported skills, you’ll now get to see candidates demonstrate what they can do.

What This Means for You
- Less time spent reviewing irrelevant CVs
- Clearer insight into each candidate’s capabilities
- A faster, more consistent hiring process
Your Role in the Vervoe Process
The Talent Acquisition team will manage assessment setup and logistics. You’ll be looped in once results are ready to review or when input is needed.
Assessment Creation
You may be invited to an assessment consultation with the Vervoe and TA teams to help shape the content. Based on your input, a tailored assessment will be created to reflect the needs of your role.
AI Optimisation
You’ll have access to our AI training portal, where you and/or your team can grade real candidate responses. This helps train the AI to understand what “good” looks like for your specific role — improving future candidate rankings.
Shortlisting
Your TA team may share a shortlist of candidates (including Vervoe report cards) for you to review. These insights can help guide who you bring to interview — or inform the questions you ask.
Candidates reaching interview stage have already shown they can perform.
Use assessment responses to tailor your interviews — e.g. “Can you walk me through how you approached that task?”
This means interviews can focus more on team fit, values, and attitude — not just verifying skills.
Common Questions and Concerns
What if I want to meet candidates sooner?
You still can — but after they’ve demonstrated a minimum skill level. This improves candidate quality and reduces wasted time.
How do I know the results are accurate?
Assessments mimic real-world tasks. They’re hard to fake, and AI scoring ensures fair, consistent evaluation.
Can I suggest changes to an assessment?
Absolutely. Your feedback helps ensure the tasks remain relevant and reflective of real challenges.
