Tagging candidates at the point of invitation can be incredibly useful—especially if you're talent pooling, managing applications across multiple locations using the same assessment, or have different recruiters overseeing different candidates.
How to Tag Candidates During CSV Import
Tagging is only available when inviting candidates via CSV upload.
CSV Format
Your CSV file should be formatted as follows:

With multiple tags per candidate (no phone number):
John Smith,john@example.com,,Tag1;Tag2 -
With phone number and multiple tags:
Jane Doe,jane@example.com,0400123456,Tag3;Tag4
If a candidate has no tags, simply leave Column D blank.
Steps to Invite Candidates with Tags
- Go to the “Invite” tab of your assessment.
- Select “CSV Import”.
- Upload your correctly formatted CSV file.
- Once uploaded, the data (including tags) will populate automatically.
Notes on Tagging
- Tags are optional and you can apply up to 10 per candidate.
- Tags added via CSV are saved to your company’s account.
- Each tag must be unique, and between 1–150 characters long.
- CSV tagging is only available on plans with the CSV_IMPORT feature.
- Tags cannot be deleted per candidate via the UI. To reset, refresh the page before submitting.
- Duplicate tag names are not supported.
