You’ve been invited to complete a Vervoe assessment — great news! This is your opportunity to show off your skills through real-world tasks related to the job you’ve applied for. Vervoe assessments are used by employers to help them understand how you perform on the job, not just on paper.
You’ll complete the assessment online using a secure link (we call it a “magic link”) sent to your email. Just click the “View Interview” button to get started.
Tips for Success
This guide will walk you through what to expect during your assessment. Feel free to jump to the section you need:
- Supported Browsers and Devices
- Accessing Your Assessment (Magic Link)
- Testing Audio/Video (and Troubleshooting)

Getting Started
Step 1: Use a Supported Browser and Device
We recommend using Google Chrome for the best experience, regardless of device. While some assessments may work on mobile, PCs and laptops are preferred, especially for tasks involving Documents, Spreadsheets or Coding.
- Download Google Chrome here
- Avoid using Internet Explorer, Safari, or outdated browsers.
- Make sure your system software is up to date.
Step 2: How to Access Your Assessment
If you’ve been invited to complete an assessment, you’ll either receive an email from the employer containing your unique magic link.
If you were invited by email:
-
Look for an email from the employer.
-
Click the "View Interview" button to start.
-
This email includes your magic link for easy access later.
If you accessed it via a shared link:
-
Enter your name and email to begin.
-
You’ll receive a magic link via email for future access.
Haven’t Received an Assessment Yet?
-
Some assessments are sent straight after applying, others take a few days—this depends on the employer and the role.
-
If you were told to expect one, search your inbox for "Vervoe"—it may have landed in another folder.
-
Still no email? Contact the employer directly.
Setting Up Your Environment
Step 3: Test Your Audio and Video
If your assessment includes audio or video questions, you’ll be prompted to test your setup before beginning. We strongly recommend completing this step to avoid technical issues mid-assessment.
Equipment and Permissions
-
Use a built-in or external webcam and a working microphone.
-
Make sure no other apps (like Zoom or Teams) or browser extensions are using your camera or mic.
-
When prompted, allow Vervoe to access your camera and microphone.
-
You’ll have the option to test these before starting your interview.
Some employers require this test before starting the interview—you won’t be able to begin until it’s completed.
Troubleshooting Steps
-
Refresh your browser or open a private/incognito window.
-
Check that your device isn’t blocking mic/camera access.
-

Completing Your Assessment
Step 4: Prepare for Different Question Types
Employers use a variety of question types, including:
-
Multiple choice questions
-
Written (text-based) responses
-
Video and audio responses
-
Tasks using Google Docs, Sheets, or Presentations
-
Interactive simulations
-
Coding challenges
Some assessments or individual questions may be timed, so be mindful of timers throughout.
Recording a Video or Audio Response
-
For video questions, you can either:
-
Record using your webcam (recommended), or
-
Upload a video from your device.
-
-
For audio questions, recording directly through the platform is required.
Let the upload finish before moving on.
Using a mobile phone?
- Connect to Wi-Fi and stay close to your router.
- Allow your browser to access your camera and microphone.
- Uploads may take a bit longer on mobile — this is normal.
If uploading is slow:
- Move closer to your Wi-Fi router.
- Close any other apps or tabs using the internet.
- Wait a few moments — slower speeds are usually due to connection issues.
Step 5: Submitting Your Assessment
If you need more time, you can click “Complete Later” — but remember:
- Timers will not pause, and
- You must submit before the deadline stated in your invitation.
If you are unable to see a "Complete Later" button, this means it has been switched off by the employer and you must complete in one sitting.
When you're done, click the blue "Submit" button at the end of the assessment.
After You Submit
Once your assessment is submitted, the employer will be notified. Assessment reviews can take 1–4 weeks, depending on the number of applicants.
Please note: Vervoe does not have access to application outcomes or progress updates. Contact the employer directly if you'd like an update.
