What Is Vervoe and Why Am I Being Assessed?
Vervoe assessments are designed to simulate tasks you might actually do in the job. That could mean writing an email, reviewing a spreadsheet, or answering a customer query. Employers choose Vervoe to better understand how candidates think, communicate, and solve problems.
Unlike traditional testing methods, Vervoe puts your skills to the test in a way that’s practical and role-specific. It also gives you a glimpse into the kind of work you’d be doing day to day, helping you decide if the role is the right fit for you.
How Vervoe Assessments Are Created
Vervoe works with employers to design assessments that reflect the actual tasks and responsibilities of a role. Employers provide insights into what the job involves, the skills that matter, and what success looks like. Vervoe then crafts tailored assessment questions, which are reviewed and approved by the employer to ensure they’re relevant and realistic.
What You’re Being Assessed On
The goal is to assess your real skills—things like communication, problem-solving, attention to detail, and digital literacy. You won’t be tested on company-specific knowledge or prior experience unless it’s essential to the job.
For example, you may be asked to respond to a customer query using information from a website. The focus isn’t on what you already know, but how well you can find, understand, and use information in a real-life context.
How You Are Assessed
Your responses are reviewed based on how well they demonstrate the skills needed for the role. Employers set the criteria, and Vervoe’s technology helps highlight top performers.
Only the content of your answers is considered—Vervoe does not use demographic data, voice analysis, or facial recognition.
Who Makes the Hiring Decision?
While Vervoe provides a score based on your responses, it’s only one part of the hiring process. Employers review all shortlisted candidates and make the final decision. The assessment is just one tool they use to get a clearer picture of your strengths.
Getting Started With Your Assessment
Step 1: Use a Supported Browser and Device
For the best experience, use Google Chrome on a PC or laptop. While mobile devices are supported, some tasks (like using documents or spreadsheets) are easier on a computer.
- Avoid Safari or Internet Explorer.
- Keep your browser and operating system up to date.
- Download Chrome here.
Step 2: Accessing Your Assessment (Magic Link)
You’ll receive an email with a “magic link” to access your assessment.
If you were invited by email:
- Look for an email from the employer.
- Click the "View Interview" button to get started.
- Save this email—you can return to it later if needed.
If using a shared link:
- Enter your name and email to generate your magic link.
- Check your inbox for a follow-up email with access.
Not seeing an email?
- Search your inbox (and junk folders) for “Vervoe.”
- Still no luck? Reach out to the employer directly.
Step 3: Set Up Your Environment
Test Your Audio and Video
If your assessment includes video or audio questions, you’ll be prompted to test your setup.
- Use a webcam and working microphone.
- Make sure other apps (like Zoom) aren’t using them.
- Allow browser permissions when prompted.
You won’t be able to start certain assessments until this is done.
Having trouble?
- Try refreshing your browser, clearing cache, or switching to incognito mode.
- See help articles for Windows or macOS permissions.
- Or contact us at support@vervoe.com.
Step 4: Completing the Assessment
Types of Questions You Might See
Employers can include a mix of question types, such as:
- Multiple choice
- Written (text-based) answers
- Video or audio responses
- Tasks using Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides
- Interactive simulations
- Coding challenges
Some questions or sections may be timed—check for timers throughout.
Tips for Video and Audio Questions
- Record directly in the platform or upload a file (for video only).
- Let uploads finish completely before moving on.
- If you're using mobile, connect to Wi-Fi and allow access to your camera/microphone.
- Slow upload? Try moving closer to your router or closing other apps.

Step 5: Submitting Your Assessment
When you're ready, click the Submit button at the end. If the “Complete Later” button is available, you can pause and return—just remember that any timers will keep counting down, and you must submit before the deadline.
Once submitted, the employer will be notified. Review times vary depending on the volume of applicants, but typically take 1–4 weeks.
Important: Vervoe does not manage the application process. For updates, please contact the employer directly.
