The Chatbot Widget is designed to enhance your candidate screening process by automating initial interactions. Once enabled, the chatbot engages candidates with pre-screening questions and either progresses qualified individuals to the full assessment or notifies those who don’t meet the qualifications.
This guide will walk you through how to activate, embed, and customise the chatbot to optimise your hiring workflow.

Getting Started
Before embedding the chatbot on your web pages, make sure you have:

Created your assessment

Set up your screening questions
Once your questions are ready, you can easily embed the chatbot onto your selected web pages, allowing candidates to apply and complete the pre-screen directly through the widget.
Important Notes

No ATS Integration: The chatbot does not integrate with your ATS. Candidate data captured through the chatbot will remain within the Vervoe platform.

Question Design: For optimal results, ensure that your screening questions are concise, clear, and aligned with your screening criteria.
Enabling the Chatbot
Account-Level Activation
To use the chatbot, an account admin must first enable it in the account settings. Once activated, users will receive instructions on how to embed the widget on their desired pages.
Embedding the Chatbot Widget
Follow these steps to embed the chatbot onto your website or careers page:

Copy the Code: Retrieve the JavaScript snippet from your settings.

Paste the Code: Navigate to the webpage where you want the chatbot to appear.

Insert the Code: Place the code within the HTML section of the page, ensuring it’s inserted where you want the widget to display.

Save and Publish: Once saved, publish the page to activate the chatbot.

Per-Assessment Activation
Once the chatbot is enabled at the account level, it can be activated on a per-assessment basis:

Go to the assessment settings section.

Toggle on the chatbot widget.

Add URL: Specify the webpage(s) where the chatbot should appear.
Note: Each assessment must have a unique URL where the chatbot is embedded. However, you can use the same chatbot (with identical screening logic and questions) across multiple URLs. For example, if you have different job postings or candidate access points, the same chatbot settings can be used across all.
To add more URLs for the same assessment, click Add Assessment Page Link and input the webpages where you'd like the chatbot to appear.
Candidate Experience
When the chatbot is live, candidates will see it as a pop-up widget on the designated page. The chatbot’s branding will initially feature the Vervoe Koala, Ollie.

Message: "Great job! You’ve passed the screening. Click the link below to start the next assessment: [Magic Link]. A copy of the link has also been sent to your email, so you can complete it at your convenience. Please note that you have X days remaining to complete the assessment."
