If you're seeing an alert "manual grading required" to unlock the score of your assessment, you have a question type that requires manual grading.
Specific questions in an assessment can be marked as Grade Manually.
This will allow you to exclude certain questions from AI grading but allow you to manually grade questions.
Assessments with this setting enabled on a question/s will not be given a score in Select until manual grading has been completed.
Grading can be completed via the AI Health Modal or the Candidate Card with prompts in Select and on the Candidate Card notifying customers that action is required.
Which questions require manual grading?
Which questions require manual grading?
By default, the following question types have the setting enabled as a mandatory requirement meaning they won’t be able to turn it off and all completions will require a grade to unlock the scores:
- Spreadsheet
- Code Editor
- Presentation
- Upload File
Text, audio and video question types can also be marked as Grade Manually
by selecting the option from the question level settings.
Note: If an assessment has a question that is marked as "grade manually" - no assessment score will be provided until the question has been graded for all candidates.
How to enable Manual Grading
At the question level, select "grade manually" on the questions you wish to grade and remove this question from the AI grading.
How to grade:
Once candidates complete assessments with manually graded questions they’ll appear in Select without a score. A tag will sit next to each candidate and on the AI health indicator prompting users that manual grading is required.
Grading can be completed via the AI health modal. When in this view only questions that are tagged as requiring manual grading will be shown to help guide you through the process quickly.
Grading can also take place from the candidate report card (integration and share cards will also work). Questions requiring the grades will be highlighted to make it easier to navigate.
Once the manually graded answers have been graded, candidates will receive an overall assessment score that has manually graded responses + AI responses (if the assessment questions are AI graded).
