What’s Changing (and Why It Matters)
We’re shifting to skills-based hiring using Vervoe — a platform that lets candidates complete short, job-relevant tasks before you review their CV or meet them.
This approach helps you see what candidates can do, not just what they say they can do.
To get familiar with the platform, check out these articles:
✅ What This Means for You:
- Less time spent reviewing irrelevant CVs
- More confident hiring decisions based on real skills
- A faster, more consistent process
🔍 Your Role in the Process
The TA team sets up and manages the assessments. You’ll be brought in when results are ready to review or discuss.
Here’s what you’ll be asked to do:
Step 1: Review Shortlisted Candidates
- You’ll receive an email or ATS update once top candidates have completed the assessment
- You’ll see their responses scored and ranked (automatically or manually, depending on the assessment)
- You can click into each candidate’s profile to review how they performed
💡 Look for job-relevant responses and critical thinking. It's okay if it's not “perfect” — you're reviewing capability, not polish.
Step 2: Give Feedback (Optional but Powerful)
- If something stands out — good or bad — let the TA team know
- You can flag concerns or fast-track a standout
- This helps refine the process and future hiring decisions
Step 3: Move to Interview Confidently
- Candidates who reach interview stage have already shown their skills
- Use the assessment results to tailor your interview questions (e.g., “Tell me more about how you approached this task”)
- Interviews can now focus more on fit, values, and attitude — not proving competence
❓ Common Questions
What if I want to speak to candidates earlier?
You’ll still get to — but only after they've passed a baseline of skill. This saves time and improves quality.
How do I know the results are accurate?
Assessments are designed to mimic real-world tasks. Candidates can't “fake” the work, and responses are scored fairly.
Can I suggest changes to an assessment?
Absolutely. Your feedback is welcome — it helps ensure the tasks reflect real challenges in your team.
