Once your candidates have completed their assessments and you've graded responses to optimise results, you can review their performance and focus on the top performers.
Here’s a quick video walkthrough of this section in Vervoe, followed by step-by-step written instructions.
Candidate Overview
From left to right, the candidate row includes the following information:
Rank
This shows how a candidate scored overall compared to everyone else. A rank of 1 means they are the top performer. If two or more candidates score the same, their completion times will also be used to determine rank, with those who complete the assessment first being awarded a higher position.
Scores, Badges, and Trophies
- Top Performer Badge: Awarded to candidates who score in the top 5% overall.
- Trophy Icons: Awarded to the top 3 performers for each skill. For example, if you have skills like sales, resilience, and empathy, 9 trophy icons will be awarded (3 for each skill).
Team Score
Here, you can review the manual scores given by team members to the candidate.
Shortlist
The shortlist icon allows you to save candidates you like to a shortlist. Once shortlisted, the icon will turn green with a tick. Shortlisted candidates appear in the Shortlist tab.
Comments
The comment icon highlights whether there are comments from other team members on the candidate's card. To view comments, click on the candidate card.
Tags
Up to 20 tags can be created across a company account through the admin settings or via the pop-up modal activated by the tag icon. Candidates tagged can be filtered by these tags (e.g., interview
, reference check
, etc.).
Note: Assessments with auto-graded questions won’t have an AI score for those questions.
Reviewing a Candidate's Report Card
Candidates who have completed an assessment appear under the "Select" tab.
To review a candidate’s results in more detail, click on their name. Their card will open in a new tab. You can open multiple candidate cards and switch between them as needed.
Report Card Information
Left Column
- Candidate Name and Email Address: Along with options to Shortlist, Hire, or Reject the candidate.
- Assessment Status: Shows the status of the candidate's assessment.
- Source: Indicates where the candidate accessed the assessment.
- Tags: Displays any tags assigned to the candidate.
- Notes and Comments: Shows any notes or comments left by your team. You can add your own directly below.
Top of the Report Card
- Score Breakdown per Skill: A detailed breakdown of the candidate's performance by skill.
- Achievements: An annotated list (e.g., finished in the top 2%).
- Question and Answer View: Access to each question and their answers.
To review responses, click on the question number or use the navigation buttons to move between questions.
Grading Responses
Although you should ideally have graded responses through the "Optimise" section to help train the AI, you can always manually grade responses while viewing the candidate cards.
To grade a response, click "Grade Answers" below the candidate’s response. You can select a score between 0-10. Once all responses are graded, the overall score will automatically recalculate.
How to Use and Train Vervoe’s AI
How Candidates Are Scored and Ranked in Vervoe
Watch this short video to see what candidate scoring looks like in your account, how rankings work, and what the scores actually mean.
Team Member Scoring
Team members can grade candidates independently. Each team member’s scoring icon will appear next to the score on the candidate card.
When grading, the team member's icon will appear next to the score in the top right corner of the question. The average score from all team members will be shown for that question.
The overall team score will be displayed on the candidate card under Team Score.
Adding Comments
You can add comments to every candidate card. If you have team members collaborating in the hiring process, everyone can contribute their thoughts in the comments section.
Note: Comments are not visible to candidates.
Sharing a Candidate Card
To share a candidate card with someone outside your account, click the Share Candidate button on the right side of the report card. You can select "Copy Link" to share a public link.
Employers can hide existing scores, completion times, and suggested answers by toggling a setting before copying the link. This will generate a different link for guest scoring and hide candidate details.
Dig Deeper and Make Informed Decisions
Filter and Sort
The Filter and Sort features allow you to review candidate results closely and narrow down the right person for the job.
Filter
The Filter option uses the tags you've created and assigned to help you view specific groups of candidates. You can display one or multiple tag groups at once.
Sort
The Sort option allows you to remove certain skills or questions from the assessment. The candidates' overall scores will be recalculated to reflect the missing skill(s) or question(s), helping you focus on particular areas of interest.
Default View |
Sort Enabled |
For example, if you're hiring a sales representative and don’t consider Salesforce skills essential, you can remove this skill to see how candidates score in other areas, like account management and sales.
Once sorted, the new rank of each candidate will be updated.
Compare Candidates
The Compare feature allows you to review shortlisted candidates' scores and responses side by side.
To compare candidates:
-
Go to the Shortlist tab.
-
Click "Compare" for each candidate you want to review.
-
A new window will open showing the selected candidates side by side. You can click on the question tabs to view responses side by side.
Once you’re done, click "x" in the top right corner to close the comparison window.
You can also share candidate cards with others for further review.
Marking Candidates as "Hired"
Once you’ve hired a candidate, you can mark them as "Hired" within Vervoe using two methods:
-
From the Select Stage:
When viewing the list of candidates in the Select stage, you can mark them as hired from their report card or via the hover card. -
Deactivating the Assessment:
If you deactivate the assessment and haven’t marked a candidate as hired, the system will prompt you to do so.
Once marked as hired, the candidate will receive a Hired badge and can be filtered under "Hired" in the "All Candidates" tab.
Tracking Hired Candidates' Performance
Now that you've marked your candidates as hired, you can track their performance with Vervoe's new post-hire features. These tools allow you to gather feedback from hiring managers, manage hire status, and gain insights on how well your new hires are performing.
