You have the option to include conversation-style screening questions in your assessment.
This will ask candidates the screening questions in a conversational format. Once they complete the screening questions, if they pass, they will be progressed to the assessment as normal.
Enabling the new Screening
Conversational screening is enabled via a toggle at the assessment level. Once the toggle is on, all candidates invited after will see the new conversational experience.
This will enable the conversational view for candidate's screening questions.
Invite candidates to the assessment as normal.
Candidate Workflow Overview
Start Assessment: Candidates begin the process by clicking "Start Assessment." from their email invitation.
Chat Opens:
A standardized chat interface, "Ollie from Vervoe" (hardcoded for v1), is launched.
The initial message introduces the assessment, providing an overview of the screening process.
Personalized Start Message:
"Welcome, [candidate first name]! We’re excited to have you as part of the assessment process for the [assessment name] position at [company name]. Our screening process is designed to be straightforward and efficient. We’ll go through a series of questions to understand your qualifications and preferences. Let’s get started!
Candidates are then asked to run video and audio checks if the setting is enabled for the assessment.
Chat guides the candidate through the screening questions designed by the employer.
Responses are highlighted in blue, while system messages are highlighted in grey.
Candidates can scroll to review prior interactions but cannot edit previous answers.
If a candidate chooses to complete the assessment at a later time, they will be asked to confirm and reiterate the deadline date.
> If an assessment closes or deadline passes while the candidate is completing the screening questions, they are notified directly in the chat of key status changes like expiration or assessment closure.
Do candidates see their results?
Yes.
The results (pass/fail) are displayed in the chat, along with clear next steps (e.g., redirection to the assessment or return to the dashboard).

If failed: A message displays the outcome, directing the candidate back to the dashboard.

If passed: A success message redirects the candidate to the full assessment.
Reviewing the Results in Vervoe
To review the candidate's responses, you will click on the candidate card and the questions will be displayed with pass/fail.
Candidate Insights:
You will receive a full log of candidate interactions stored on the candidate card. This is accessible by clicking View chat log
at the end of the screening questions section of the candidate card.
Logs provide transparency for recruiters and support compliance or performance reviews.
Screening results (pass/fail) and candidate responses are easily accessible for review.
