At Vervoe, we are committed to providing an inclusive and fair assessment process for all candidates. Our approach to testing focuses on assessing skills rather than traditional metrics, ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to showcase their abilities.
How does Vervoe provide necessary adjustments for candidates with a disability?
Inclusive Testing for All Abilities
We understand that traditional testing environments and methods can be challenging for individuals with disabilities. Our platform is designed to be compatible with most assistive technologies, including screen readers, keyboards, and other adaptive devices. This ensures a seamless and accessible experience for all users.
Comfort and Convenience
Candidates have the flexibility to complete assessments from the comfort of their own homes, which can help reduce anxiety and enable them to perform at their best. Assessments can be taken at their own pace, providing the time needed to accurately demonstrate their abilities. To ensure accessibility for all candidates, be mindful of timers on questions or the overall assessment.
Remove Timers on Questions
If your assessment has timers on questions or the overall assessment, we can remove the timers from the assessment for the individuals who require them.
In order to do this, duplicate the assessment, remove all timers, and invite candidates to the un-timed assessment.
This allows ample time to complete tasks without the pressure of a countdown, ensuring that all candidates are assessed based on their skills rather than their ability to work within a time constraint. If you'd like help in actioning this, please contact our Support Team at support@vervoe.com
Question Writing
Our testing methodology uses real-world work samples rather than traditional interview questions. This means that candidates are not required to discuss past experiences or imagine hypothetical scenarios which can be difficult for some canddiates. Instead, they are presented with tasks and challenges they would encounter on the job, providing a more accurate measure of their skills.
By emphasising skills and abilities, Vervoe helps employers discover talent that might otherwise be overlooked and candidates with disabilities to prove their skills beyond their resume. Our inclusive testing approach ensures that all candidates can compete on a level playing field.
Machine Learning for Fair Grading
Vervoe's machine learning for grading candidates considers how a candidate got to an answer and their answer to the question. The machine learning does not have any additional information on the candidate regarding their disability status, or any other personally identifiable information. Questions that use video or audio will grade the transcription rather than grading tone, accent, or pitch. This means candidates (with or without a disability) are not unfairly graded on aspects other than their ability to do the job.
If a candidate requires additional adjustments, all assessments can be customized or amended to enable candidates to put their best foot forward and complete the assessment within their requirements.
If you have any questions about necessary adjustments or assessments for inclusivity, please contact support@vervoe.com.
